Distance: approx 11 miles Time: 90 - 120 minutes Difficulty: Intermediate Start Elevation:325ft Max Elevation: 1002ft Map 1 Notes: 1. You can park at the visitors centre in Pinchinthorpe. Start by following the main track into the woods. The route will follow the main fire roads up until point 2.... 2. Look carefully for an opening in the trees, it will lead to a fairly steep shale bank which disappears into dark woods. This is the Black Hole. There is a bridge to cross at the bottom which is perfectly rideable. Turn right and then bare right.... 3. There is a crossroad of paths at point 3. Turn right into the trees and head back upto the fireroad. Simply follow the route towards High Cliff nab. 4. Simply go through the gate and head for the pile of rocks we call 'the nipple', the route is straight forward from here. 5. Point 5 is little Roseberry on the other side of the gate that overlooks Roseberry Common. You need to bare right on the other side of the gate and then left to the top of the grassy hill that we call Little Roseberry. There is a reasonably steep descent on the otherside. Turn right at the bottom which is a wide trail that will lead to a gate and then a second gate. 6. Just as you re enter the woods there is a footpath on your left, just past this is a short piece of trail on your left which is part of The Maze. Go down here and rejoin the fireroad where you started. The end of the route, hope you enjoyed it :O) www.trailblasters.co.uk Copyright (c) 2004 Simon Baxter
